The Center for Quality of Management is a non-profit community of companies and universities focused on improving business performance of its members. We do this both for individual executives and their organizations through education, networking, and research. We work to build a continuum of skills using the concept of mutual learning, where individuals and organizations actively collaborate on their problems by sharing both their successful and unsuccessful experiences.

CQM's activities fall into three major categories:

  1. Education. CQM offers a range of courses on management methods that provide members with the knowledge they need to solve problems and realize new opportunities. Our course Four Revolutions in Management for Senior Executives provides participants with a common vocabulary and tools that help companies to implement customer focus, continuous improvement, total involvement and societal networking within their own organizations. CQM's newest offering, Mastering Business Complexity, provides a set of new skills that help companies get the right people working on the right problem at the right time, to get to the right solution.

  2. Networking. Executives frequently share new methods, experiences, and learnings at CQM seminars and functional or topical roundtables. CQM chapters hold regular Senior Executive Roundtables, and CQM member companies also frequently visit each other's facilities.

  3. Research. CQM and its members believe that management methods continue to evolve, and effort must be made in figuring out how newer methods work in combination with each other, and with current methods. For instance, CQM member companies are currently developing state-of-the-art of management practices for making and executing better decisions in today's faster-paced, dynamic and complex business environment. CQM research findings are tested and refined in CQM member companies and often developed into courses for both member and non-member companies.
CQM has over 100 member organizations and 15 university affiliates in the U.S. and Europe. Members include Analog Devices, Inc., American Power Conversion Corporation, Bose Corporation, Compaq, Hewlett-Packard, Keane, Inc., Solectron Corporation, Teradyne, and Wyse Corporation.
